Meeting Notes for 20 July

Planning meeting July 22-23

One thing we will want to provide in the proposal is justification of the expense of the e-Labs. For example,

• Adding a neutrino e-Lab
• Use of the Cosmic Ray e-Lab (would be good to have numbers)
• CMS data is probably used more in the master classes than in the e-Lab. Ken would know.

During the meeting, we will brainstorm ideas for high-value development of the e-Labs.

Drupal

Marge spoke with someone during a recent workshop that is using Drupal 8 successfully to do what we want with our own site. We'll take a look at it to see if it's practical to convert the site to something similar.

Local development

Everyone (Joel, Sudha and Tom) has been having problems with Postgres in the local development environment. Mihael is helping us sort them out (as well as with Cosmic data formats and fixing LIGO)

CMS

Atlas is preparing to release an open data "portal" or some such. Tom will send us links when it's live so that we can look at it for ourselves and perhaps develop ideas for the CMS e-Lab.
